Integer crunching with Julia

Following a blog post by Daniel Lemire on integer crunching with Java vs C(++), here's a Julia version in the attached file. Barebone Julia goes at 25% the speed of the C(++), and adding some straightforward typing brings it to 70%, which nicely illustrates Lemire's point. And there's room for improvement, but the result is already quite impressive and  the really small time it took to code just makes it even more so. We shall soon provide a literate programming version.
